The European Students' Union (ESU) and the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) Association have agreed to work together to support students throughout Europe. As part of a memorandum of understanding, ISIC has agreed to assist ESU in promoting the interests of students, and its work to support national unions of students throughout Europe. In return ESU has agreed to endorse the ISIC Card as official and internationally accepted proof of full-time student status.  ISIC card holders are given access to preferential goods and services internationally that help students meet their educational objectives and support them in their day-to-day life. ISIC cards are already distributed by national student unions and ESU members in Finland, France, the United Kingdom and Estonia. By ISIC and ESU working together the aim is to expand the cooperation between national student unions and ISIC to more countries. Allan Päll, ESU Vice-Chairperson, and Martijn van de Veen, ISIC General Manager said that the agreement will provide more benefits for students and allow student unions increased financial independence. Van de Veen said: "Our partnership with ESU further strengthens ISICs position of official proof of student status and opens the door to further development of appealing services and benefits for today's student. Through ESU members, we expect to reach more students throughout Europe and give them access to the many unique advantages the ISIC card has to offer". Päll added: "Our cooperation with ISIC will make it easier for students to make ends meet, be it in on their own campus or while travelling abroad.     6月18日晚7點，商英學院第二屆行銷實戰大賽決賽在六教報告廳拉開戰幕。出席本次大賽的嘉賓有我們學聯的主席Mr. Lam Keung，總監黃聯發，國際三證部高級主任Ms. Bowie Hung，副總經理Ms. Phoenix Guo，廣外大國際項目中心主任彭啟貴，管理學院市場行銷系主任張紅明，廣外國際商學院的副院長郭桂航，副院長朱文忠，黨委書記駱銀花等。評委則由我們僑誼留學總裁張得林先生，副總經理Ms. Bowie Chaw等人擔任。經過兩個多小時的精彩角逐，最終身穿紅色隊服的商務2班憑藉著獨有的創意和洋溢的激情奪取了本次大賽的桂冠。     在短暫的開場視頻以及動感十足的器樂表演《Victory》後，本次比賽正式拉開序幕。緊接著副院長彭玲玲為比賽致開幕詞。她指出本次大賽是學生們將課內知識運用到實踐的很好機會。從材料收集，調查研究，再到現場展示，整個過程所得到的寶貴經驗將對學生們日後的學習與工作產生積極的影響。最後她感謝香港學聯集團及僑誼留學的大力支持，並祝願所有選手取得成功。     隨後各支隊伍依次上場，整齊的著裝，充滿創意的口號令人眼前一亮。首先上場的是來自商務4班的Infinity。他們以國際學生證ISIC面臨的困境為切入點，認為廣州當地市場有很大的發展潛力，緊接著結合精確的數位和直觀的圖表提出了具體的操作方案並分析其可行性。而旅遊線路大賽，廣州一日遊等活動的開展也成為本支隊伍的一大亮點。     第二隻隊伍商務2班的Pioneer展示過程中新穎的廣告創意給在場的評委和觀眾留下了深刻的印象，ISIC Just Go以及ISIC Social Network等方案的提出更為其增色不少。在提問環節中，面對評委對資料真實性的質疑和為何選擇KTV作為合作商家等問題，隊員們立足自身的調查研究，給出了通過人人網、博客加大宣傳面以及借助KTV這一已成為大學生娛樂消費方式拓寬廣告管道等有力回答。他們的表現從容淡定，博得現場陣陣掌聲。     隨後，TGC帶來活力四射的舞蹈表演。動感的舞步，快節奏的音樂使全場氣氛迅速加溫。     接下來上場的是商務081的“Sharp”隊，他們分別從目標市場的選擇、產品開發策略和定位、項目運行的獨創性和專案成效分析等方面“推銷”自己的方案。選手們在現場陳述和答辯環節中都表現出色。面對評委“Why should I buy ISIC card？”的“刁鑽”提問，隊員周嘉佳冷靜沉著，分別從ISIC card的國際通用性、支付寶的使用簡易性和各國文化交流專案的新穎性入手，極富說服力。     來自商務083的7-up則另闢蹊徑，針對ISIC card知名度不高和其核心價值開發不夠等問題，提出了“4C-ISIClub，ISICenter，ISICarnival和ISICooperation”的行銷創意，並鼓勵GOES通過與眾多商家合作來尋找雙贏的契機。除此之外，精彩的PPT展示和專業的行銷策略分析讓現場觀眾在笑聲和掌聲中享受了一場名副其實的“行銷盛宴”。     緊接著學聯國際教育機構總監黃聯發和僑誼留學總裁張得林分別發表了講話。張得林先生表示這次行銷實戰大賽是廣外大新教學理念的體現，也是一個企業和學校雙贏的活動。它將課內知識和課外實踐聯繫起來，給學生提供了一個展現自我才能，發揮無限創意的平臺。隨後是激動人心的頒獎時刻，經過激烈角逐，最終Pioneer獲得此次大賽的冠軍，而最佳個人獎則由來自Sharp的周嘉佳獲得。     至此，商英學院第二屆行銷實戰大賽圓滿落幕。商英學院一直致力於開展此類學術活動，大賽不僅得到了院系領導的高度重視與大力支持，也吸引眾多同學積極參與，為商英學子提供一個很好的鍛煉創新能力，培養團隊精神的實踐平臺。 決賽獲獎名單：             一等獎商務2班  Pioneer               二等獎商務1班 Sharp             三等獎商務3班  7-up              優秀獎商務4班  Infinity                最佳個人表現獎周嘉佳

  International Student ID Cards give access to a world of discounts By Song Yuanyuan When a German tourist lost his wallet in Beijing, police managed to track down the owner by the only form of identification within: an International Student Identity Card (ISIC), with an emer-gency help hotline printed on the back. As related on BTV's Law Online program, this occurred in Beijing during the Olympics, at a time when ISICs were carried by very few in China. In fact, it took police quite a while to figure out what the card was: an ID card offering discounts on bus, train and air tickets, as well as for stores, hostels and restaurants. International Teacher Identity Cards (ITIC) and International Youth Travel Cards (IYTC) are also part of the series under the International Student Identity Card Association. "ISIC isn't as precious as your passport, so many people like carrying this convenient little card in their wallets as an identification card," said Erica Xue, director of ISIC China's Head Office in Beijing. For Chinese going abroad to study or young people who love overseas travel, getting an ISIC or IYTC seems quite necessary. "Many of the applicants are Chinese who are going abroad to study or travel in the US and Europe," Xue added. Hou Yujia, now working for China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, is an enthusiastic tourist. "I have quite a few friends studying in Europe who advised me to get an IYTC before I traveled there," she said. "It saved me quite an amount when I was traveling by myself by train, about 20 percent off," she said. Tian Lijuan got one when she returned to Beijing from Sweden during her summer break in 2008. "My first semester was pretty much spent in schools, but I was starting to take trips in Europe, and this card saved me quite a lot on accommodation and tourist sites," Tian said. Xue told Lifestyle that they are trying to find more partners that can offer discounts for the card holders in Beijing, especially the areas frequented by expatriates, such as Sanlitun and Nanluoguxiang. Online applications launched on May 1, 2009; before that, people had to apply in person. For more information, visit www.isic.cc/apply. ITIC Applicants: All teachers and professors working in registered full-day education organizations, schools, colleges and universities (working at least 18 hours a week).
